How it works

Because a lapsed MOT is an expensive way to find out

Driving without one is an offence, and your insurer may treat the car as unroadworthy. The date is easy to lose track of and easy to be reminded about.

Two warnings, not one

Thirty days out, when there is still time to shop around for a test slot. Then again at seven, in case life got in the way.

When your car is tested again we pick up the new expiry date from the DVSA automatically. You never have to sign up twice.
